What is the Cool Air Rebate program?
Cool Air Rebate (CAR) is a California program, administered by the Car Care Council, that helps qualifying drivers repair a leaking vehicle AC system. We're a participating shop.
How much does Cool Air Rebate cover?
Up to 90% of the qualifying repair cost, capped at $1,500 per vehicle (total repair cost up to $1,666.70) — you pay the remaining 10%. The diagnostic fee is covered 100% if you go ahead with an approved repair, or 90% if you decline or the vehicle isn't eligible.
Am I eligible for Cool Air Rebate?
You need to be a California resident with a household income at or below 225% of the federal poverty level (or enrolled in Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, or CalFresh/SNAP), and a 1993–2019 passenger vehicle with an R-134a AC system that has a confirmed leak.
How do I apply for Cool Air Rebate?
Pre-qualify online at coolairrebate.org, and once approved you'll get an approval letter. Bring it to us — we're a participating shop — for testing and repair.
